SOUTH BEND - Michael Andrew Maxwell,
14, beloved son, brother and grandson, who resided on South
Pulaski Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Oct.
14, at Life Line Children's Rehabilitation Hospital in
Indianapolis, Ind., due to complications received from an
automobile - bicycle accident, which occurred on Aug. 30, 1998.
He was born on June 28, 1984, in South Bend, to the union of
Herbert Lee and Constance (Newsome) Maxwell. Michael was a
student at South Bend Washington High School, where he was a
member of the freshman basketball team. He also participated in
the YMCA basketball league for several years. He is survived by
his parents, Herbert L. and Constance J. Maxwell; two brothers,
William Avance and Herbert Maxwell, Jr.; maternal
grandmother, Sara Newsome and paternal grandmother, Lorene
Maxwell, all of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews,
friends and other relatives.
Visitation will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Alford's Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ, with burial following at Southlawn Cemetery. Alford's Mortuary is in charge of handling arrangements.
