MISHAWAKA - Lucille M. Matz, 60, of 405 Gernhart, died Wednesday night in St. Joseph Hospital following a two-day illness. Born in South Bend on March 5, 1918, she had lived in this area since.

As Lucille M. Ball she married Elchard Matz in Mishawaka on May 8, 1940. He died on June 26, 1963. She is survived by a son Alan E. of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Renfroe of Lafayette; a grandaughter; a brother Elmer Ball, Buffalo, NY; and a sister Mrs. Richard Fisher of Mishawaka.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, where services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. officiated by the pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ in South Bend. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
