SOUTH BEND - Clementine J. Matuszak, 92, died at 5:45 a.m.
Monday in the Sanctuary at St. Joseph. Clementine was born on
November 13, 1915, in South Bend, to the late Michael and Joan (Ozolski)
Tomaszewski. She was also preceded in death by her three
sisters, Sally Thomas, Clare Ross and Bernice Hoffman;
three brothers, Aloysius, Walter and Casimir Tomaszewski; and by
her son, Richard Matuszak. On June 11, 1935, she married Aloysius
in South Bend. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her
son, Norman (companion, Nancy) Matuszak; grandchildren, Beth Ann
(Steve) Staszewski of South Bend, Kevin (Kathie) Matuszak
of South Bend, Greg (companion, Amy) Matuszak of South Bend and
Jeff (Chris) Matuszak of South Bend; many great-grandchildren;
and by her sister, Alice Bliss of Miami. Clementine was a member
of the St. Adalbert Catholic Church Harvest House and Holy Cross
Catholic Church Harvest House, St. Cecelia's Choir of St.
Adalbert, Goodwill Society, St. Stanislaus, and the Apostleship
of Prayer of St. Stanislaus. She worked for the University of
Notre Dame.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today,
August 13, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road,
South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August
14, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where friends and family may
gather one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow at St.
Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made
to the St. Adalbert Catholic Church Building Fund, 2505 W. Grace
St., South Bend, IN 46619.
