OSCEOLA - Harold Mattson, 75, of
Osceola, Ind., died on Thursday, March 12, in St. Joseph
Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind. Mr. Mattson was born on July 25, 1922,
in Odena, Wis., to John and Hilda (Nelson) Mattson. He was a
resident of St. Joseph County for over 50 years. Mr. Mattson was
preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Raymond Mattson; two
sisters, Irene and Florence Mattson; and by a daughter, Brenda Keyser.
He is survived by three sons, John Mattson of Mishawaka, Marvin
Mattson of Niles, Mich., and Michael Mattson of Jackson, Mich.;
two daughters, Glenda Hersberger and Elaine Stevens,
both of Goshen, Ind.; a brother, Gilbert Mattson of Hiles, Wis.;
two sisters, Gladys McCorkle of Hobart, Ind., and Vera Torre
of Largemont, N.Y.; and by 17 grandchildren. Mr. Mattson was
employed by Federal Paper in Elkhart, Ind., for over 35 years
until his retirement in 1986. He was also an Army veteran of
World War II.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Services for Mr. Mattson will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Chapel Hill Memory Gardens.
