Services for Rev. Edward F. Massart CSC, 89, of Holy Cross House, who died there at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Basilica, with burial in Holy Cross Community Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at 7:30 p.m. today in Moreau Seminary.

He was associate pastor at Holy Cross Parish in South Bend from 1962 to 1963. He was born Sept. 17, 1902 in Merrill, Wis. He is survived by his brother, Rev. Raymond Massart CSC and nieces and nephews. He made his first vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1922 and was ordained in 1930. He spent the first 28 years of his priesthood as a missionary in what is now Bangladesh. From 1956 until his retirement in 1963 he served in a number of parochial and chaplaincy assignments in Louisiana, California and Ohio.
