FRANCIS PAUL MARVIN

01/15/1926 -- 12/03/2003

 

Francis Paul MARVIN, 77 of 6876 S. Indiana 104, Walkerton, Ind. passed away after an extended illness at 10:52 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 3, in the Saint Joseph Medical Center, Plymouth, Ind.

 

He retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation after 27 years of service. He was born Jan 15, 1926 in Idaville, Ind. and had lived here most of his life.

 

He was married to Barbara Jean BEEBE on April 2, 1944.  She passed away on March 13, 1985.

He then married Alice LARREW on Dec. 6, 1990.  She survives.  He is also survived by a daughter, Sharon MARVIN of South Bend, Ind.; two sons, Ernest (Vicki) of Grand Haven, Mich, and Paul Michael of Monticello, Ind.; eight grandchildren; two stepsons, Junior (Patricia) LARREW of Walkerton; and Richard (Linda) Larrew; 16 step-grandchildren, 27 step-great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Dudley of Detroit, Mich.

 

Mr. Marvin served in an armored division in France during World War II commanded by General George PATTEN.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 777 in Indianapolis, Ind., the National Rifle Associate and the North American Hunt Club.

 

Services will be held at 11:oo a.m. Monday Dec. 8 in the A.M. Manuel Funeral Home, North Liberty, Ind. officiated by Rev. Bill WALDRON.  Cremation will follow. Graveside services will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date and will be conducted by members of American Legion Post #365, North Liberty.
