Marvin Owen Martz, 67, of San Diego,
formerly of South Bend, Ind., died April 2, 2002 in Kaiser
Hospital. Marvin was born September 19, 1934 in Decatur Michigan.
He is survived by his companion of 19 years,
Arlene Weeks, of San Diego, along with her children and
grandchildren. He is also survived by a son, Michael Owen Martz
of San Ysidro, Calif.; two daughters, Brenda Martz-Alva Rado
(Mark) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Michele Meredith (Allan) of
Galt, Calif.; five brothers, Virgil Martz (Pat) and John Martz
(Betty), both of South Bend, James Martz (Nancy) of Simi, Calif.,
Larry Martz (Laura) of Florida City, Fla., and Ronald Martz
(Deborah) of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Roberta Griffiths
(Lloyd); and three grandchildren, Christian, Tommy, and Anthony.
Marvin O. Martz retired from the U.S. Marine
Corps after 22 years of active duty and active reserves. He
retired as a Master Sergeant. He also retired from the South Bend
Indiana Police Department after 22 years of service. He was also
a campus Police Officer for the University of San Diego for 10
years, retiring in 1997.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego,
Calif., with Rev. Richard Huls officiating. There will be no
visitation. Alhiser-Comer Mortuary, Escondido, Calif., is
handling arrangements.
