Lucille D. Martin (June 28, 1914 -- May 13,
2007)
SOUTH BEND -- Lucille Doris Martin,
92, of Hedge Maple Court, South Bend, died in her home on Sunday,
May 13, 2007, following an illness.
Lucille was born on June 28, 1914, in South
Bend, to James and Mary (Lawrence) Harden.
She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in
1932. On February 22, 1936, in South Bend, she married Charles
Richard Martin, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1994. She
was also predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Leo Harden and
her twin, Louis Harden; and two sisters, Helen Schmitt and
Genevieve Rightley.
She is survived by three sons, Richard
(Marian) Martin of Highland Heights, OH, Donald Martin Sr. and
James Martin, both of South Bend; two daughters, Anita (Leo) Goepfrich
of Traverse City, MI, and Cheryl (John Jr.) Rucano of South
Bend; and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Martin of Indianapolis, IN.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Kathleen (John) Martin-Hwa,
Mary (Frank) Androjna, Richard (Kimarie) Martin, Tracy
(Kevin) Chinavare, Robert (Cindy) Goepfrich, Donald Martin
Jr., Timothy (Barbara) Martin, Bridget Martin, Michael Martin,
Andrea (Timothy) Whittaker, Gina (Eric) Nichols and
John Rucano III; along with 16 great-grandchildren, and many
nieces and nephews.
Lucille was a lifelong resident of South
Bend and a member of Corpus Christi parish and its predecessor,
Sacred Heart parish. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and
grandmother.
Friends may visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00
p.m. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South
Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 17,
2007, in Corpus Christi Church, 2801 Corpus Christi Drive, South
Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.

-- Lucille Doris Martin, 92, died on Sunday, May
13, in her home. Lucille is survived by three sons, Richard
(Marian) Martin, Donald Martin Sr. and James Martin; two
daughters, Anita Goepfrich and Cheryl (John Jr.) Rucano; a
daughter-in-law, Marsha Martin; 12 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will
be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, in Corpus Christi Church.
Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a
parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m.
