Jesse S. Martin

July 31, 1867 – May 20, 1945

Jesse S Martin, aged 77, of 329 North Notre Dame Avenue, a painter, died at 7:50pm Sunday in his residence after an illness of three years.

He was born in LaPorte County, IN, July 31, 1867, and came here 48 years ago from Rolling Prairie IN. On November 5, 1891, in Rolling Prairie he married Anna Dorothy Schroeder, who survives.  He is also survived by two sons, Gordon Martin, of Kalamazoo MI and Stewart Martin, of 1105 Emerson Avenue, South Bend; a daughter, Naomi E Martin, at home; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call in the Orvis Funeral Home Tuesday and until funeral services there at 3:30pm Wednesday.  Rev. Paul A. Rasche, pastor of the St Peter’s Evangelical & Reformed Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  He was a member of the Fidelity Camp No 28, Woodmen of the World.
