SOUTH BEND - Earl Max Martin, 74, of 309 Rue Gauguin, died at 5:55 p.m. Monday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center after an illness. Mr. Martin retired in 1982 from Wheel Horse after 16 years of service. He was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

On Oct. 9, 1948, in Mishawaka, he married Florence C. Bismore. She survives with a daughter, Ruth Ann Shultz of South Bend; a son, John M. of Mishawaka; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Mahoney and Ferda Bartels, both of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call two hours before services in the funeral home.
