MISHAWAKA - Donald A. Martin, 97, of Mishawaka, IN, passed
away at 7:05 PM Saturday in the Golden Living Center, Mishawaka.
He retired in 1981 from Morrical Painting and later was
self-employed as a painter. Mr. Martin was a member of Local 1118
Painters Union from 1946-1980. He was born on September 4, 1911,
in Monroeville, IN, to David and Pearl (Lemler) Martin,
and had lived most of his life in South Bend/Mishawaka and had
lived one year in Niles. In November 1959, in Granger, IN, he
married Dorothy M. (Mabry) Martin, who preceded him in
death on October 28, 1995. Mr. Martin is survived by his son,
Dannie E. Morrow of Niles, MI; two grandchildren, Donald
W. (Lynne) Morrow of South Bend and Georgia (David) Beam
of Edwardsburg, MI; and two great-grandchildren, Dannie Morrow
and Sarah Beam. One brother, Herald Martin, preceded him in
death. Mr. Martin attended Willow Creek United Methodist Church.
He was a United States Army veteran, having served during World
War II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM
Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528
Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 9 AM until time of services on Wednesday in
the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Donald A. Martin may
