"ERNEST MARLEY

    Ernest Oliver Marley, 80, formerly of 52790 Hollyhock, died at 4:30 a.m. today in Miller's Merry manor nursing home, Peru, after a six month illness.  He was a retired painter and decorator.  He was born on April 5, 1897 in Eagleton, Ind., and lived in South Bend about 30 years, coming from Marion, Ind.  In 1933, in Indianapolis, he married Alta (Dawson) Eley, who survives, along with two sons, Fred Marley of Indianapolis and Glenn Eley of Peru; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

    Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 52803 U.S. 31 North.  Marley was a member of Local 1118, Painters, Decorators, and Paperhangers of America."
