SOUTH BEND – Rev. Thomas M. Markos, CSC, 63, of Phoenix, formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in Phoenix, where he was superior of the Holy Cross Community Residence. Born June 3, 1928 in Chicago, he made his first profession in the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1946.

He was ordained to the priesthood in 1954. He spent the years 1954 to 1988 in teaching and administration in secondary schools, especially Notre Dame High School for Boys in Niles, Ill., and Bourgade Catholic High School, Phoenix. He also served in Portland, Ore., in parishwork. He was superior of Casa Santa Cruz, Phoenix since 1990.
