Loren D. Marker, 84, of Northside
Boulevard, South Bend, Ind., passed away following an illness on
Friday morning, April 28, in his home. He was born to Delbert and
Jennie (Kettring) Marker, both of whom preceded him in
death.
On Oct. 23, 1937, he married the former Ada
M. Von Bergen in Mishawaka, Ind. She survives. He is also
survived by their two sons and their families, John and Judy
Marker of Wakarusa, Ind., and Mark and Linda Marker of Mishawaka;
four grandchildren, Teresa (Kevin) Gentry, Scott (Heidi)
Marker, Dr. Jason (Kirsten) Marker and Emily (Mark) Curtis;
his four great-granddaughters, Ellen, Hannah, Lauren and Noelle
Marker; a brother, Carlton (Mary) Marker; and by several nieces
and a nephew. Loren and Ada owned Marker's Food Market in
Mishawaka for many years. He later worked at Ferman Meat Market
and Hahn's Best Feed. He was a lifelong member of the Coalbush
United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m today,
April 30, in the Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Funeral services
will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 1, in the Coalbush United
Methodist Church at the corner of Bremen Highway and Jackson
roads. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Woodland, Ind.
