Ann M. Marchi, 79, of Mishawaka, passed away surrounded by
her family at 1:37 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006, in the Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Ann was born on
January 22, 1927, in Mishawaka, to the late George and Julia Derbin.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Michael,
Charles and John Derbin.
On February 27, 1954,
in South Bend, as Ann Derbin, she married Robert L. Marchi. Ann
is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert; two sons, Mark
and his wife, Cindy, and Mike and his wife, Gina; and by five
grandchildren, Jenna, Danielle, Nicholas, Antonio and Angelina.
Ann devoted her life
to taking care of her family and grandchildren. The greatest
accomplishment of all in life is to be a giving, selfless person,
to love everyone and be loved by everyone. Ann accomplished these
things with humbleness and was an example for all of us of what a
truly good person should be. She will be missed so much by her
husband, who loved her so much for all 52 years of their marriage
and devoted his whole self to taking care of her and never left
her side. Her sons have truly lost a wonderful mother who would
do anything for them and loved them so much. Ann helped take care
of all her grandchildren with her caring nature, selflessness and
jovial sense of humor. She loved to cook, and she never let
anyone leave her house hungry. Her memory will continue to
inspire and guide those who knew her. We are truly blessed to
have had such a kind and nurturing person for our kids, to love
them and help shape their lives. She is a big piece of all our
hearts that we will miss forever until we meet again in eternity.
Ann was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, the
former DeAmicis Ladies Auxiliary and Mishawaka Fire Department
Auxiliary.
The family will
receive friends on Monday, August 28th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM
in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where a
Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial
will take place on Tuesday, August 29th, at 10:00 a.m. in St.
Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with the Rev. Terry Fisher
officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
The family requests
