SOUTH BEND - Cecilia Malinowski, 78,
of 1335 N. Cove Street, died quietly in Memorial Hospital
Thursday evening after a brief illness. She was born Cecilia Krol
in South Bend, IN, where she was a lifelong resident. Cecilia was
preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Adam Malinowski.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas
(Delphine) Malinowski, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and Raymond
(Karen Kemp) Malinowski of Niles, Michigan; five grandchildren,
Dr. Robert Malinowski, Sharon Grden and Lynn Ciucci, all
of Detroit, Leah Malinowski and Laura Malinowski of Niles; and
five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother,
Edward Krol of South Bend.
After several years as a seamstress at
Wilson Brothers Shirt Company, she worked at the University of
Notre Dame from which she retired after many years of service.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church Rosary Society. Cecilia
leaves the world as she entered it, with a sharp mind, a good
heart and a pure soul. Cecilia was a loving mother, grandmother
and an excellent cook, and she will be remembered for her
homemade Polish sausage.
Friends and family may visit Monday evening,
September 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 in the St. Joseph Funeral
Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be
said at 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday, September 7, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, with
entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial
contributions for masses or in her memory may be made to St.
Stanislaus Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend, IN
46628.
