Patricia J. Mahon
March 17, 1922 - Feb. 9, 2001
Patricia Jean (Kintz) Mahon, 78, of Nappanee, Ind., formerly of the Milton Home and Sherwood Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died on Friday evening, Feb. 9, in Elkhart General Hospital.
Patricia retired from the Notre Dame Hesburgh Library as a librarian assistant for over 15 years.
She was born on March 17, 1922, in South Bend, to Sylvester and Harriet (Walling) Kintz, who preceded her in death, along with a son, Kevin. On July 1, 1942, in South Bend, she married Joseph T. Mahon, who died on Feb. 7, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary (Bob) Ross of South Bend and Therese (Herman) Stone of Walkerton, Ind.; three sons, John E. (Julia) Mahon of Nappanee, Maury (Peg) Mahon of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Larry (Tricia) Mahon of New Jersey; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and by a half sister, Carol Wallus of Greencastle, Ind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, (219) 289-1000, where a wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Patricia was a member of Harvest House of Christ the King, and was a graduate of Washington-Clay High School.
