LaVern Mahoney, 85, passed away March
30, 1997 in Yucaipa, Calif. following an extended illness. He was
a graduate of Central High School in South Bend.
Survived by his wife Margaret Adams
Mahoney whom he married in April of 1954. She now resides in
Tolar, Texas. He is also survived by three children, Paul from
Dallas, Texas, Mike from Norwalk, Calif., and Diane Pittman,
Costa Mesa, Calif. Preceded in death by his wife, and mother of
his four children, Ruth Lucille (Shirley) Mahoney in 1944,
and by his eldest son, Leon, of South Bend in 1988.
Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 25
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was a
member of the Local 250 Refrigeration Air Conditioning Union for
25 years. He served as the president for the Local 250. He kept
his credentials as a professor of Air Conditioning Refrigeration
with a life-long teaching license.
Services have taken place at the Assembly of
God Church in Huntington Beach, Calif. on April 4. Memorial
graveside services and burial took place on April 7 in Holly
Hills Memorial Park, Granbury, Texas.
