Dennis P. Mahoney, 68, died on Monday, March 23, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple, Texas.

He was born in South Bend, Ind., on Nov. 11, 1929, to Leo A. Mahoney, Notre Dame class of 1922, and Julia Lootens. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in Korea, 1951-52.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley.

He is survived by his children, Kathy and her husband Rob Blickle, and Kevin and his wife Betty; by his four grandsons, Casey Mangine, Sean, Michael and Matthew; by his brothers, Leo G. and his wife Bridget, Rev. Bernard J. and Rev. Robert L.; his sister, Mary Claire; his nieces, Maureen Mahoney, Tricia Tarter and Mary Kitayama; and by his nephew, Timothy Hayden.

A funeral Mass will be concelebrated at noon on Friday by his brothers, Robert and Bernard, and by Bishop John McCarthy at St. Joseph's Church in Manor, Texas, where Father Robert is the pastor. Internment will be at Assumption Cemetery in Austin, Texas. Arrangements by the Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 Lamar, Austin, Texas.
