Obituary for Melvin Mahler

Melvin Mahler, Melvin Mahler, age 76, who has lived four miles northeast of Mishawaka for 48 years, died Saturday night at 6:30 o'clock at St. Joseph's hospital after an illness of two weeks. He was a victim of cancer.

Mr. Mahler was born Sept. 21, 1852 in Germany and has been a farmer all his life.  He was married to Anna Giel Nov. 4, 1882. She survives her husband. Other relatives who survive are four daughters, Sister Clemens of Carlisle, IL.  Sister Camilla of Superior, WIs. , Mrs William Casper of this city, and Mrs. Charles Themens, of St. Paul Minn. Seven sons also survive Mr. Mahler. They are Charles, Frank and Martin Mahler of this city.  Fred and Leo of South Bend, and Lawrence of rural route no. 2.  Remains may be viewed at the residence Sunday afternoon. The funeral will be held from St. Monica's Roman Catholic church.  The burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery.
