Camiel Madou

Jan. 26, 1877 – July 21, 1964

A resident of Mishawaka since 1910, when he came from Belgium, Camiel Madou, 87, 803 W. 9th Street, died Tuesday afternoon in the Jeffrey Nursing Home, South Bend. He was born in Belgium Jan. 26, 1877 and married Alice De Priest in that country in 1904. She died in 1959.

Surviving are one son Edward Madou of Mishawaka; two daughters, Mrs. Martha De Wolf and Mrs. Margaret Van DePutte, both of Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; a brother Edmund Madou of Belgium, and three sisters. Mrs. Helen David of Lansing, Mich., and Misses Sidone and Martha Madou, also of Belgium.

Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday. He was a member of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church.
