Florence Louise Madden
SOUTH BEND - Florence Louise Madden, 83, of 3614
Whitcomb Ave., died at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Madden had been a cafeteria worker at Riley High School for
the South Bend Community School Corp. She was born Feb. 19,
1907, in Illinois and lived in South Bend for ?6 years, coming
from La Paz. On June 9, 1923, in Elkhart, as Florence L.
Williams, she married Cecil Dewey Madden. He died Sept. 5, 1989.
She is survived by five daughters, Marjorie Holland and Shirley
Bishop, both of South Bend, Lucille Bird of Angola, Ind., Joyce
Stout of Atlanta, and Sharon Delinger of Mishawaka; two sons,
William of Fort Wayne and Donald of San Rafael, Calif.; 19
grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Sadie
Miller of Lynwood, Wash., Velma Krause of South Bend and Nola
Hindman of Bellevue, Wash. A son, Robert, preceded her in death.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Guisinger
Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Southlawn
Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the
funeral home.
