SOUTH BEND Mrs. Maria T. Macri,
76, of Indianapolis, a former South Bend resident, died at 9 a.m.
Wednesday in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Death was due to
a heart attack. She was born on Sept. 6, 1888 in Siderno Marina,
Italy. She came to the United States in 1922.
In 1908 in Italy she was married to Carlo
Macri, who died in 1958. She is survived by four sons, Paul Macri
of Mishawaka, Vincent J. Macri of South Bend, and Joseph and
John, both of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Agostino
of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ida DeBlase of Lapaz; 29
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John Tamburini
of South Bend and two brothers, Joseph and Patrick Stalteri,
both of San Jose, Calif.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at
the Walsh-Bilancio-Guisinger Colonial Chapel. Services will be at
10 a.m. Monday in St. Matthews Catholic Co-Cathedral.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. The rosary will be recited 9
pm. Sunday in the funeral home. Mrs. Macri was a member of the Di
Coretta Italian Society and the De Amecis Society, Mishawaka.
