Edmund M. Maciejewski Sr.: (South Bend Tribune 12/16/1976)
Edmund M. Maciejewski Sr., 77, of 58413 Crumstown Hwy., died at
1:30 a.m. today in his residence after an extended illness. He
was owner and operator of Maciejewski Locker Plant for 35 years
before his retirement. He was born Sept. 26, 1899, in South Bend
and had lived here all his life. On Sept. 26, 1923, in South Bend
he married Myrtle E. Kowalewski. She survives, along with a son,
Edmund Jr. of South Bend; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Horvath
of New Carlisle, and Mrs. Theresa Barilich and Mrs. Cecelia
Sidorowicz, both of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; a brother Casimir of Florida; and four
sisters, Mrs. Florence Jones and Mrs. Cecelia Schultz, both of
Florida, Mrs. Francis Cardiff of Illinois, and Miss Martha
Maciejewski of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
in Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas L. Depa, pastor, will
officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may
call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 9 p.m. Friday in the St.
Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 8
p.m. today. A rosary will also be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in
the funeral home by the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church.
Maciejewski was a charter member of the Warren Twp. Fire
Department and a member of the Crumstown Conservation Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County unit
of the American Cancer Society.
