Sister Mary Ethel Rida CSC, 83, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 4 p.m. in the community infirmary, St. Mary’s. She had been a member of the community for 59 years. She was born Josephine Mahler on Jan. 6, 1867 in Michigan City, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception. Burial will be in the community cemetery.
