5, 1928 - April 18, 2010SOUTH BEND - Theresa Leona MacDonald, 81, passed away Sunday in her home surrounded by her family. She was born October 5, 1928, in South Bend, IN, to Lillian and William Micinski. She attended Holy Cross School and South Bend Central High School, and was employed by Osco Drugstore as a cosmetician for 17 years. On November 24, 1949, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, as the former Theresa Micinski, she married Winfield MacDonald. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, and her children James MacDonald of Alcoa, TN, Marsha Kapica (Donald) of South Bend, IN, and Thomas MacDonald (Kathy) of North Liberty, IN. Survivors also include her five grandchildren, Kristen Aldorisio of San Francisco, CA, Douglas Kapica (Maureen), Travis MacDonald and Bradley MacDonald of South Bend, IN, and Jamie Cygan (Brandon); and great-grandson, Jordan of Valparaiso, IN. Theresa joins her beloved daughter Marcia, who passed away October 29, 2004. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Southern Care Hospice. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21st, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., with a 4 p.m. Rosary in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 56407 Mayflower Road, South Bend, with Monsignor Bernard Galic officiating. Burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Theresa's spirit, courage, quiet generosity and unending kindness will be fondly remembered by her loving family.
