William M. Lyvers, 72, of West 13th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 13, after a lengthy illness.
Bill was born on July 10, 1924, in Reed, Ky., and had lived most of his life in the Mishawaka area.
On April 27, 1946, he married the former Lena Cabrini, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Christina Messana and Mary Ann Lyvers, both of Mishawaka; five sons, William M., Thomas, Michael, Ray and John Lyvers, all of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Jo Horvath of South Bend, Ind., Kathleen Susitz of Argos, Ind., and Jean Marie Mann of Las Vegas, Nev.
Bill retired in 1991 as owner/operator of A-1 Air in Mishawaka. He was an Army veteran of World War II; a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mishawaka; of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, Mishawaka; and of the Nocturnal Eucharistic Hour.
Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a rosary was recited at 6 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with burial following in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Church in Milford, Ind., or to the Women's Care Center, Mishawaka.
