Sister Salome Lyons CSC

Sister Salome, CSC, aged 49 years, died at St. Mary’s convent Saturday just before midnight. She came to this country from Ireland, her birthplace and entered the Order of Holy Cross in the community of St. Mary’s in 1882 and lived here since. She was said to have excelled in her occupation as nurse. Three years ago she suffered at stroke of paralysis and her health had greatly failed from that time. Sister Salome’s worldly name was Anna Lyons.

A short mass was held this morning in the convent chapel, Rev. James McManus, CSC, officiating. The funeral was held this afternoon from the convent chapel, Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
