SOUTH BEND - Eleanor J. Lyczynski, 81, of Carlyle Heathcare Center, formerly of South Brookfied Street, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday in the nursing home. She was born Sept. 7, 1912, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Jan. 19, 1929, in South Bend, as Eleanor Aftowski, she married Edward E. Lyczynski. He died March 21, 1984. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Lula of South Bend; two grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Hudnall of Mishawaka. A son Edward J., died July 30, 1975.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Cemetery. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
