SOUTH BEND - Services for Anthony Leo Lyczynski, 82, of North Walnut Street, who died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in his home, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Kaniewski Funeral home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mr. Lyczynski was employed by South Bend Water Works, retiring in 1975. He was born May 30, 1912, in South Bend.
On May 31, 1975, in South Bend, he married Dorothy J. Pries. She survives with 16 daughters, Marlene Bell of Bristol, Charlotte Knight of Jonesville, Mich., Colleen Carmack of Mishawaka, Jammie Thomas of Orlando, Fla., Jacqueline Lyczynski, Toni Marie Default, Vicki Lyczynski, Mary Bailey, Sandra Stineback, Betty Perez, Jean Ann King, all of South Bend, Linda Wilson of Weaver, Ala., Lorretta Slisz, Phyliss Slisz, Dorothy Slisz, and Jean Slisz, all of Michigan City; eight sons, Lawrence Lyczynski of White Pigeon, Clayton Lyczynski of Constantine, Charles Carmack of El Paso, Texas, Elvin Gardner of Buffalo, Okla., Casey Slisz of Mishawaka, Thomas Carothers of Gary, Ind., and Richard Slisz and Jerry Slisz, both of South Bend; 52 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Miller of Mishawaka; and two brothers, Joseph and Leo, both of South Bend.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bowlers Country Club and Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club, Veterans of Foreign War Post 9820.
Editor: He originally married Hildegarde Celichowski on 6-29-1940 in St. Joseph County IN. She died 12-11-1959 in South Bend IN.
