Sister M. Anna Cecile Luther CSC, 87, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died early today in the convent. She was born Jan. 1, 1899 in South Bend as Marie Luther, and came to St. Mary’s in 1983. She is survived by a sister, Sister Cecile Marie Luther CSC. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Jan. 18, 1921; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1920; and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1922. She taught music in elementary schools of the Congregation, including St. Joseph Academy and Holy Cross School in South Bend; and other schools in Indiana, Elkhart Logansport and Michigan City. She also taught in Flint, Mich.; Davenport, Iowa; Lancaster, Pa.; Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church at St. Mary’s, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday in the convent parlors, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m.
