Edgerton ''Red'' Luther, 79, of Hedge Maple Court, South Bend, Ind., died at 11 p.m. on Monday, March 2, at Hospice House.
Red was born on Nov. 16, 1918, in Gary, Ind., to LeRoy and Mab (Workman) Luther.
On May 23, 1941, in South Bend, he married the former Wilma Yetter, who preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1981.
Red is survived by his daughter, Pamela K. Gerencsor, and his son, Leonard L. Luther, both of South Bend; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, June McMahon of Benton Harbor, Mich.; and by a brother, Herbert Luther of South Bend.
Red retired in 1970 from Ward's Bakery.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William, with the Rev. Steven Mullin of Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation has taken place in the Michiana Crematory.
Memorial contributions made be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
