Mrs.
Michalina Lukasiewicz, Rt. 2, South Bend, died at 2:30
p.m. Monday in her home, after a three-week's illness. She was
born July 13 (?), 1873 in Poland and came here 54 years ago.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Martha Smigielski and
Mrs. Stella Kwiatek; three sons, Walter, Frank and Edward Lukasiewicz;
9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, all of South Bend and
sister, Mrs. Rose Kwiatkowski in Poland. Friends may call
at the St. Joseph Funeral Home after 6:30 p.m. today. Funeral
services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, in St. Adalbert's Catholic
Church with Very Rev. Msgr. Ignatius Gapczynski, pastor of the
church, officiating, and burial will be in St. Joseph Polish
Cemetery. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be her grandsons, Richard and
Arthur Smigielski; Robert, Edward and Donald Lukasiewicz
and Eugene Chlebowski.
