Edward E.
(Luke) Lukasiewicz, 67, of 913 Evergreen, died at 1:45
p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Hospital after a two-month illness.
Lukasiewicz retired in 1969 from the Oliver Corp. after 36 years.
Born on Oct. 9, 1908, in South Bend, he had lived here his
lifetime. In 1931, he married Hattie Kalka, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Donald E. of South Bend; four
grandchildren; two brothers, Walter of South Bend and Frank of
St. Petersburg, Fla., and a sister, Mrs. Martha Smiegalski
of South Bend.
Services will
be at 10 a.m. Monday in the St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Rev.
Eugene J. Kazmierczak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in
St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
and 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home
where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. He
was a member of Local 9, UAW CIO.
