Eva Mae Perri Ludington, 77, of
Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after a brief
illness at 2:35 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, in St. Joseph Community
Hospital, Mishawaka. Eva was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Waterloo,
Ala., to the late Turner and Annie Sue (Pittman) Saddler.
In 1941, in Mishawaka, Eva married Emilio G.
Perri, who preceded her in death in 1962. In 1968, in
Paris, Ill., she married Ray Ludington, who preceded her in death
in 1989. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Long;
and by a brother, John Saddler. Eva is survived by twin
daughters, Lenda (James) Dowdy and Glenda (Mason) Tedder,
both of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Sonya Smith, Mike McDowell
and Tony Reeves of Mishawaka, Rodney Beheyt of
South Bend, Ind., and Frankie Reeves of Osceola, Ind.; six
great-grandchildren, Shayla Smith of Mishawaka, Rodney and Rocco
Beheyt of South Bend, Whitnea, Heather and Frankie Reeves of
Osceola; five sisters, Nadine Knox of Mishawaka, Betty Mesko
of Akron, Ohio, Agnes McGee, Peggy Jones and Rose Holt
of Florence, Ala.; and by a brother, Pat Saddler of Florence,
Ala.
Eva was the owner of the former Mel's Truck
Stop in Mishawaka. She loved attending church as she was a member
of the Community Brethren Church in Mishawaka. A most loving and
caring mother and grandmother who lived for her family, she will
be greatly missed. No words can express the love we will carry in
our hearts for her forever.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene A. Eckerley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
