MISHAWAKA - Barbara L. (White) Santana Loy, 64, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 9:08 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008. She was born June 27, 1943, in St. Joseph County, IN, to Roy A. and Catherine (Minder) White, who have both preceded her in death.

On August 3, 1994, in Sevierville, TN, she was united in marriage to Railton D. Loy, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Michelle D. Santana, Bonnie M. Santana and Kitty Anne Santana, all of South Bend, and Heidi M. Santana of Lakeville, a son, Kerry L. Santana of Mishawaka; and 22 grandchildren. Five sisters, Theresa Heaton and Mary Hughes, both of Tucson, AZ, Helen Santana of South Bend, Nancy Fox of Mishawaka and Judy Bailey of Florida, and four brothers, Michael J. White of Niles, MI, Walter F. White of Florida, Joseph J. White and Donald J. White of South Bend, survive Barb as well. She was a courageous faithful, fun-loving, God-fearing woman. Though losing her oldest child, Wanda L. Santana, on Mother's Day, May 14, 2000, she stayed strong and faithful. One year later she was diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer. Through the years and faith in God, she fought the cancer and remained strong for her family and friends. She will be terribly missed but not forgotten. She is safe within the gates of Heaven preparing the paths for the ones she loved and left behind. With all our love, Your children and Husband

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Claude Kinder will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Friday until time of services in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Loy may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 West Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
