GRANGER - Monico L. Low, M.D., 83, of Granger, Indiana, passed
away peacefully at 5:19 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010, in his
residence. Dr. Low was born November 8, 1926, in Cavite City,
Philippines. On November 30, 1957, Dr. Low married Nancy (Booth)
Low at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception in Michigan
City, Indiana. They recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Nancy survives along with their three children, Jacqueline Low of
South Bend, Teresa Low of Osceola and Christopher D. (Lisa) Low
of Fishers, Indiana, and one grandson, Ryan C. Low. Dr. Low is
also survived by his siblings, Gregorio (Marjorie) Low of
Calgary, Canada, Severina (Kim) Fong Wong of Toronto, Canada, and
Renato (Purito) Low of Vancouver, Canada. He was preceded in
death by his parents, and by his brother, Arturo Low. Visitation
will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th, in the
Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Services will be private. A graduate of
the University of St. Thomas, Manila, class of 1955, Dr. Low
moved to Newton, Illinois, to set up his general practice. He
practiced medicine for 30 years before his retirement in 1990. In
his spare time Dr. Low enjoyed working on the computer, and was
an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the building fund at St. Thomas the
Apostle Church, 306 West Jourdan Street, Newton, IL 62448. Online
