Florence Louise Lovitt, 85, of South Ironwood Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, in Hospice House. She was born on Aug. 8, 1916, in Plymouth, Ind., and had lived in this area all of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Anna May (Stafford) Werntz; three brothers, Charles, Cleo and Elmer Werntz; and by a sister, Betty Keppler. Florence was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of America Council #61 in South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Lovitt is survived by two daughters, LaVerne (Bob) Dial of Mishawaka and Mary Ann Tolley of Mishawaka; four sons, Larry (Dodi) Allen of New Carlisle, Ind., Terry (Marilyn) Allen of Minneapolis, Minn., Jerry (Carolyn) Allen of Portage, Mich., Charles (Verna) Allen of South Bend; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Louetta Lovitt of South Bend.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 18, in Bubb Funeral C hapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the funeral home, with Charles Wotring, the chaplain of American Legion Post #308, officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
