Robert Lee Lott

Mr.
Robert Lee Lott, 61, of North Blaine Street, South Bend, Ind.,
passed away following an illness of approximately eight months at
7:11 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, in Memorial Hospital.
On
Jan. 24, 1939, in Cleveland, Miss., Robert was born to the union
of the late George and Mary (Williams) Lott. He was also preceded
in death by three siblings, Lawrence Lott, Alberta (Lott)
Phillips and Beatrice (Williams) Blakely.
In
1945, as a young child, Robert moved with his family from Cleveland
to South Bend. He was raised in South Bend and graduated from Washington
High School where he excelled academically as well as being an
outstanding athlete. After graduation from high school Robert
went on to college and graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee,
Wis., where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Continuing his education, he completed graduate school at Indiana
State University.
In
St. Louis, Mo., on Sept. 21, 1963, Robert married Viola Wallace.
After completing his education Robert and his family resided in Detroit,
Mich., Ames, Iowa, and University Park, Ill. In 1982 Robert
returned to South Bend and was employed by the South Bend
Community School Corporation where he coached and was a counselor
until the time of his death.
Loving
family members who survive along with Viola, the mother of his
four daughters, are Kimberly Renee Lott of South Bend, Deborah
Renee Wilson and her husband, Keith of University Park, Teresa
Renee Lott of Augusta, Ga., and Barbara Renee Lott of Mishawaka,
Ind.; two grandchildren, Keisha Renee Wilson and Keith Anthony
Wilson, Jr.; a sister, Alena Wilkins; and by three brothers,
George Lott and his wife, Carol, James Lee Lott and his wife
Ruth, and Jimmie L. Williams, all of Flint, Mich.; along with
numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral
services for Mr. Lott will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March
30, in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to services in Alford's Mortuary,
to which arrangements have been entrusted.
