Irvin F. and Ilene S. Losicki

MISHAWAKA - Ilene S. Losicki Nov. 3, 1921 - May 20, 2008 and Irvin F. Losicki, 77, and Ilene S. Losicki, 86, passed away on Tuesday May 20.

Irvin was born on January 25, 1921, in South Bend to John Fan and Mary Ann (Dyszkiewicz) Losicki. Ilene was born on November 3, 1921, in Flora, Illinois, to Thaddeus and Harriet (Lester) Shields. Irvin and Ilene are preceded in death by their parents; son, Richard Edwards; Irvin's brother, Harry Losicki, Irvin's sister, Frances Banasiewicz; and Ilene's sister, Lena Frances. They are survived by daughters, Connie Parker of Aubrey, TX and Sharon Haynes of Melbourne, KY; grandchildren, William Parker Jr., Kimberlee Parker and Michael P. Haynes; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and Irvin's sister, Virginia Nowaczewski of South Bend and Evelyn Chudzicki of Fairhope, AL.

Irvin was an inspector at AM General for 26 years before retiring on February 1, 1995. He earned a Purple Heart while serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 284, VFW Post 360 and the Moose Lodge. Ilene worked at Ball Band for several years and was a member of the First Church of God, Mishawaka.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, with visitation one hour prior in the funeral home. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Northern Indiana Food Bank.
