SOUTH BEND - Howard G. Longaker, 87, of 515 E. Monroe, died Saturday evening in Memorial Hospital after a four-week illness. He was born April 1, 1894 in St. Joseph County and lived here most of his life. On May 16, 1925 in Kalamazoo he married Jeannette Stockman, who survives.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Chapel. Internment will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday in the funeral home. He was a retired self-employed painter. He was a member of the Veterans of World War I.
