John J. Lombardi

John J. Lombardi, 81, of West Fisher Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, in Fountainview Place of Mishawaka, Ind. He was born on Jan. 15, 1918, in Woonsocket, R.I., and had lived in this area since 1947. Mr. Lombardi retired from the University of Notre Dame. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

On May 28, 1949, in South Bend, he married Loretta Moskwinska, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Donata Lombardi of Mishawaka, Anne Marie Lombardi and Erika Lombardi, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Gladys Cox of Massachusetts and Carol White of Mishawaka; and by a brother, Aldo Lombardi of Michigan. Mr. Lombardi was preceded in death by a son, John J. Lombardi, Jr.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 5 p.m. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
