Mildred Mae Logan, 80, of South Bend
and Culver, Ind., died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, in the Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 29, 1920, in Culver,
to Clarence and Hazel Calhoun. She married Carl E. Logan,
who died on Feb. 11, 1972. She married George M. Cullers
of Argos, Ind., in 1975. He died on May 3, 1984. She was also
preceded in death by a sister, Helen (Lew) Hood of
Winamac, Ind., who died in 1995. Mrs. Logan is survived by a
daughter, Janet (Al) Dunkelberg of Cape Coral, Fla., and
Stevensville, Mich.; a son, Wade (Nancy) Logan of Manhatten,
Kan.; two grandsons, Matthew and Michael Logan; a granddaughter,
Amy (Ryan) Zigler; and by two step-grandsons, Christopher
and Matthew Steirwalt. She is also survived by her
sisters, Martha (Doc) Ives of Culver and Edna (Ray) Taylor
of Michigan City, Ind. Mrs. Logan worked as assistant cashier in
the State Exchange Bank of Culver for 25 years, and retired in
1976. She moved to South Bend in 1984 where she became a member
of the Grace United Methodist Church, Explorer's Sunday School
Class, and the Timely Topics Circle.
Viewing was from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, in the Grace Untied Methodist Church, 3012 S. Twyckenham Drive, South Bend. Burial was at Culver Masonic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church in South Bend or to Hospice.
