Gertrude M. Loeffler

Gertrude M. Loeffler, 94, residing on Piedmont Way, South Bend, IN passed away at 5:45 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 at Regency Place, South Bend, IN.

Mrs. Loeffler was a bookkeeper for Marshall Fields in downtown Chicago. She was born on December 24, 1907 in Chicago, IL to Fred and Meta (Wedaband) Wallenberg and resided in Chicago until 1982 moving to South Bend, IN.

On July 11, 1931 in Chicago, IL she married Henry Loeffler, who preceded her in death on November 28, 1975.

Mrs. Loeffler is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Robert Kresca of South Bend, IN; a daughter-in-law, Karen Loeffler of Naples, FL; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Loeffler in 1996 and by one sister, Dorothea Huber.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002 at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL. Rev. Frederick Pfotenhauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday prior to services at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, IL.

Contributions in memory of Gertrude M. Loeffler may be given to Hilltop Lutheran Church, 4114 S. Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46614.
