Sept. 29, 1927-Sept. 2, 1995 SOUTH BEND - Edgar L. Loeffler, 67, of Walsingham Lane, died at 11:08 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Loeffler retired from Uniroyal as a superintendent in 1987 after 36 years of service. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Evansville, Ind., living here since 1951. On Nov. 20, 1954, in Mishawaka, he married Verna J. Carter. She survives with four daughters, Caren S. Bechtel of Elkhart, Amy J. Shearer of Kailua, Hawaii, Jennifer M. Beal of Terre Haute, and Tibbett J. Merusi of Tashkent, Uzbekistan; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas D. of Columbus, Ohio. He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church, South Bend American Turners and Uniroyal Management Club. He was on the board of directors of Visiting Nurses Association and active in Junior Achievement.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuedsay in the -funeral home.
