Henrietta F. Lodyga, 89, of S. Tuxedo Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:35 a.m. Thursday, May 31, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. She was born Dec. 29, 1911, to the late Stanley and Agnes (Hess) Kuczmanski in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Walkowiak and Dorothy Kuczmanski; and by two brothers, Michael and Ervin Kuczmanski.

On July 15, 1933, as Henrietta F. Kuczmanski, she married Ervin F. Lodyga in South Bend. He survives. She is also survived by two sons, Ervin J. (Patricia) Lodyga, D.O., of Granger, Ind., and Richard M. (Eileen) Lodyga of San Clemente, Calif.; five grandchildren, Lynn M. (Michael) Disbrow of Oakwood, Ohio, Lisa A. (David) Uhl of Roswell, Ga., Michelle (Daniel) Generaux of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Lee M. (Cynthia) Lodyga of Studio City, Calif., and Michael R. Lodyga of Fort Riley, Kan.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Nicole Disbrow, both of Oakwood; three sisters, Marie Szarwark of Houston, Texas, Virginia Wawrzyniak of South Bend and Evangeline Kuczmanski of South Bend.

Mrs. Lodyga was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Parish and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #58.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 3, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, 17475 Dugdale Drive, South Bend, IN 46635.
