SOUTH BEND - Andre D. Lloyd, 47, of St. Louis, MO,
formerly of North Iowa Street, South Bend, departed this life
Saturday, June 14, of natural causes. Andre was born Sept. 15,
1960, in South Bend, the youngest of seven to William H. and
Katie B. (Donaldson) Lloyd. Andre was born and raised on
South Bend's Lakeside. Andre was a graduate from Harrison Grade
School where he was active in track and drill team. He also
graduated from Washington High School. Andre, who was
affectionately known as "Light Bulb," joined the
Army and served his country in 1981. Andre was a serious
rollerskater, and loved people and just having fun. Making family
and friends laugh was one of his favorite pastimes.
Andre leaves to cherish his memory his
mother, Katie B. Lloyd of South Bend; two sisters, Lenora Lloyd
of South Bend and Dovie (Henry) Townsend of University
City, MO; two brothers, Stanley Lloyd of South Bend, IN, and
Mario Lloyd of East St. Louis, IL; six nephews, Malone Lloyd,
Herbert (Erica) Lax, Clinton Kyle, William Lloyd
III, Angelo Lloyd, Mario Lloyd Jr. and Charles Fleming;
seven nieces, Bonita Lloyd, Angela (Johnny) Gaines,
Jaquese Lloyd, Satia Lloyd, Sophia Lloyd, Althea Lloyd and Deana
Fleming; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also
preceded in death by his father, William Sr., a brother, William
Jr., and a sister, Pamela (Lloyd) Fleming.
Services for Mr. Andre D. Lloyd will be held
Saturday, June 21, in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincoln
Way West; visitation will be at noon and funeral services will be
at 1 p.m. The Clark O'Neal Funeral Home has been entrusted with
the services.
