Marion C. "Blackie" Litka,
77, of South Camden Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 5:20 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 21, in the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation
Center. He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in South Bend, and was the
son of Kazimier and Sabina (Walowski) Litka. Mr. Litka
retired from Clark Equipment. He was a Navy veteran of World War
II.
On Jan. 24, 1948, in South Bend, he married
the former Geraldine Markiewicz, who survives. He is also
survived by a daughter, Andrea (William) Schmidt of South
Bend; two sons, Terrence (Susan) Litka Sr. and Paul (Anne) Litka,
both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Terrence (Holli) Litka
Jr., Melissa Litka, Ruth Litka, Andrew Litka, Erin Schmidt, Kevin
Schmidt, Sean Litka and Molly Litka; two great-grandchildren,
Austin and Tavion; a sister, Regina Giczi of South Bend;
and by a brother, Clem Litka Sr. of South Bend. He was preceded
in death by a brother, Joseph Litka; and by a sister, Alfrieda Micinski
of South Bend.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4
p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 23, in the ST. JOSEPH
FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. Services will be
at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
