SOUTH BEND - Richard B. Liszewski,
68, of Clearwater, Fla., a former South Bend resident, died Dec.
10 at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bay Pines, Fla., after an
illness. Mr. Liszewski was a former South Bend and St. Joseph
County building inspector. He was born Sept. 11, 1927, in South
Bend, and moved to Florida in 1975.
Surviving are his companion, Dorothy Kuruc
of Clearwater. Also surviving are three daughters, Kathy Kern
of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lynne McCandless of Egg
Harbor, N.J., and Diane Marie Phillips of St. Louis; a
son, Wayne R. of South Bend; nine grandchildren; and a sister,
Lorraine Slott of Wheaton, Ill. A son, Paul, died Jan. 19,
1995. He was a Navy World War II veteran and a former member of
St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial
will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
