MISHAWAKA - Sarah G. Lisenko, 84, of Mishawaka passed away on
Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical
Center in Mishawaka. Sarah was born on October 6, 1925 in
Belfast, Northern Ireland to the late William and Georgina (Grey)
Faulkner. As the former Sarah Faulkner, she married Alex Lisenko
in Mishawaka on August 10,1946. Alex and Sarah met during W.W.II
when Alex was stationed in Belfast Northern Ireland. Alex and
Sarah shared forty-two wonderful years of marriage together. Alex
passed away on May 5, 1988. Survivors include two daughters,
Marie (Joseph) Gregor of Rose Hill, KS, Cindy (Dan) Gamble of
South Bend, two sons, Roger (Marilyn) Lisenko, Jerry Lisenko both
of Mishawaka and a daughter-in -law Karen Lisenko, of South Bend.
Sarah was preceded in death by a daughter Georgina Morse who
passed away on November 5, 2008 and by one son Philip Lisenko,
Karen's husband, who passed away on June 22, 2005. Sarah was a
grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother to 22
grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great
grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, William Faulkner from
Belfast, Northern Ireland and her special friend, Catherine
Palsce of Osceola, IN. Two brothers Ernie and Edward Faulkner
preceded Sarah in death. Sarah was a loving and caring wife,
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family whom she
cherished most of all. Sarah enjoyed gardening, reading and her
grandchildren. Sarah was the secretary of the Orthodox- Catholic
Apostolic Church of the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2010 from
11 am to 1 pm at the Bubb Funeral Chapel 3910 N. Main St
Mishawaka, with the funeral service to be held at 1 pm with the
Rev. Lawerence Bacik officiating. Burial is to follow the service
at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
